Deferred from wake forest chance me at emory

<p>ive got a 3.76 weighted</p>

<p>taken 6 APs and 4 honors: chem honors, algebra 2 honors, physics honors, precalc honors ap environmental, ap chemsitry, ap physics B, ap calc ab, ap econmoics</p>

<p>national honor society, spanish honor society, study abroad in spain 3 weeks, organized basketball tournaments for fundrasiers, tutor, ping pong club treasurer</p>

<p>my sat's are bad i know
680math, 510 critical readong, and 550 writing
total 1740</p>

<p>i go to a very tough high school. my essay shows overcoming adversity. my semester grades are decent. im getting mostly all B's but 6 of my classes are AP. school doesnt rank but top 18% in very compeititive school</p>

<p>i knwo my SAT's dont cut it but i woudl like to be chanced anyway. i was just deferred from wake forest so im a little disappointed right now</p>

<p>Emory's average gpa is a 3.7-3.8 uw, so your gpa is a bit below average (what's your uw gpa?), and as you stated, your test scores are definitely subpar for Emory. You didn't mention your ec's anywhere. Ec's are going to play a huge role, especially for Emory, and especially when an applicant is lacking in another category.
I think you're pretty much right. Your chances aren't very high, but it's always worth a shot.</p>

<p>Do you still have time to retake the SATs? If you could pull up your scores in reading and writing a hundred points each you would have a much much much better shot. It's def. possible-I got a 530 the first time I took the SAT (in Math) and then studied really hard and got a 610, followed by a 630. I had those scores rushed to Emory (and other schools).
