On the one hand, I’m happy I was not rejected. That means Yale (in my eyes) thought I was a qualified, strong applicant. On the other hand, I wasn’t accepted. As a result, I’m starting to overthink whether or not I should I apply to other schools similar to Yale in the regular round. Should I add more match schools? Should I send a letter of continued interest? What does this mean?! Thanks
Definitely send a LOCI (simply stating that Yale is your first choice and you will attend if offered admission), but I would wait until January at the earliest…when you hopefully have great first semester grades to share.
Where else have you applied so far? Have you applied to any match schools already? Do you have an affordable safety? Posters will need your stats if you want school suggestions.
What’s your budget?
I have applied to Rutgers, Boston University (honors), NEU, Dual BA program between Trinity College Dublin and Columbia University, and Swarthmore all for regular decision thus far. I also applied to a few schools in England and Scotland, and have been accepted at King’s College London as of right now.
I still have to send applications to NYU, Tufts, Brown, Cornell, Harvard, Pomona, and Princeton.

I have a 4.0 UW and 4.87 W. APs: 5 (APUSH), 5, (APHUG) 4 (Art history), 4 (lang)

Test optional (couldn’t take SAT/ACT)

I had two ex admissions officers from Columbia and Princeton review my app before i sent it to Yale. They said it was stellar and “hoped Yale snapped me up,” but that I shouldn’t expect anything because it’s Yale.

Money is not an issue right now.
This is an impressive set of accomplishments. With T20 schools, it’s always somewhat of a crapshoot because tens of thousands of similarly qualified students also apply. Sending a letter of interest is definitely the right move here and I agree with the above recommendation on that.
As you’re thinking about applying to other top schools, I’m curious about your essays. It has become increasingly important over the past years and especially with test optional candidates, it’s likely going to be a big difference maker. How confident do you feel in your content? Were you able to communicate compellingly everything you want the admissions readers to know about you?
Money isn’t an issue? Has your upper income, noncustodial parent decided to complete the financial aid paperwork and agreed to pay for your education or are they still intending not to contribute? If you won’t qualify for need-based aid and your parent won’t pay then you need to focus on schools you know you can afford without their contribution. I’m sorry you’re in that position, but better to know it in the fall instead of having it sprung on you in April.
Hey there! Your EC’s are outstanding. I’m really interested in what subjects you are/will be applying for
Im applying for history. I’m also interested in women’s, gender, and sexuality studies & science, technology, and society
I will be applying to the Dual BA in Art History! Wishing you the best of luck for admission
Good luck!!! The Dual BA is such an amazing program. I hope we both get interviews!
