Deferred in ED, Already accepted in RD?

<p>Hi CC,</p>

<p>A friend of mine says that he applied ED to UPenn and was deferred. At the end of January, he told me that he heard from UPenn and has already been accepted to the CAS, no longer binding. Is this a thing? I thought that he would have to wait until the March 27th date to hear back.</p>

<p>Yeah he is definitely trolling you. Penn is not a rolling admin school, RD decisions come out in march.</p>

<p>By Ivy agreement, Penn can admit under ED, use Likely Letters and admit students under Questbridge (notified ~ Dec 1st). Otherwise, they are forbidden from offering any other admits until Mar 27th.</p>
