Is anyone else beginning to think that Michigan is actually using their deferred applicants as a pseudo waitlist? They seem to be holding this huge pile of deferred applicants until they hear back from those they already accepted who are now hearing from all the other schools. By having this really late deferral response date, they can slowly admit some deferred students--just like every other school's waitlist.

Also, did anyone notice that on the website it now says that the deferral response date is end of April?

•Our equal consideration application deadline was February 1. Decisions will continue to be released on a rolling basis through April. All students who have been deferred will receive a final decision of admit, waitlist, or deny by late April.

You may very well be right but all I know is that myself and probably a lot of CCers are not going to wait any longer if we are put on the “actual” waiting list

I know tons of people at my school who got deferred and have received their acceptance letters. Strangely, I also know a ton of people who got wait-listed and they have also received their acceptance letters.

Have you wondered that possibly you’ve been pseudo rejected?

Still no word on admisstion for me—I was also deferred after submitting ea–I totally agree with the writer of this post. They are the only school that I have heard of that is taking so long. Why are they so different? In response to the common app–the common app has been around for a few years alread; they should have their act together by now. In my mind, everyone they want is already in. The rest of us are their safety net if they get a lot of no’s.
