"deferred" means a lot of things for michigan

3 years ago, "deferred" basically meant that if you pulled great senior year grades, then you were in.

the past two years, "deferred" was basically a rejection. I thought over 50% of the deferred kids got accepted later on, but this year, most of our graduating class that got deferred ended up getting waitlisted or rejected.

Does anyone have any actual statistics? Predictions for next year about what "deferred" will actually "mean"?

also, is the rumor true that admissions is supposed to be a bit easier compared to the past two years for michigan?

I thought that next years admissions was supposed to be harder because there are more seniors next year...

well i was deferred-waitlisted-accepted...quite a few people were accepted from the waitlist from what my guidance counselor was telling me...i'm not sure if admissions have gotten easier

Admissions were definitely more competitive this year than past years. I saw several people get deferred and then rejected with 1300 SAT, 3.6 UW GPA's.
