Deferred...now what?

Okay so a whole lot of us hav been deferred as expected (no offense!).. what is everyone upto? i myself have NO IDEA what i shud b sending to harvard.. i mean, ive put everythin in my app!!! so what now???? suggestions r most welcome!

what people usually do:

[ul][]send another essay[]reiterate interest through a letter[]get more recs[]update the college about EC's / major awards since the application was sent[li]try to show an improvement in the Mid Year report, rank GPA et al, get the counselor to put in a word or two...[/ul]
[/li]

not saying you should do all of them ;)

thnks a bunch astrix.. :)

mutual back scratching laila, mutual back scratching... :p

RED ALERT!!! copied phrase :P

My defferal letter says "You need not send any additional Material at this time"... and it goes on to say that Pton wantz 2 c my Miod-year report... is it really neccessary to send in additional material?

rm, its nothing necessary... but does it show continued interest... yup!

2day i tlked with some current students at Brown and an alumni interviewer for princeton and they told me to
"express your continued interest. Be very tactful in how you do it and the timing for your expression. You have to understand that they just looked at your application and will not be looking at it for a while. Also, anything that you send right now, will be opened by students and filed with rest of the stuff. The best way to do it is a. If you have an admission counsellor email them expressing your cont. interest and wishing them happy holidays. b. if you dont have an admission counsellor, focus on your RD apps right now and send them addl material after the 2nd week of Jan. c. Try to get additional hooks - an extra reference, a faculty at coll. that would email the admission officer saying that 'he is a nice kid' or an alumni.

for whats it worth...
