Hi :)

I'm editor of Duke's student news magazine and I'm writing a story about admissions at Duke. I am looking for students who were deferred (and then ultimately accepted OR rejected) or outright rejected from Duke. Preferably applicants from the last 2 years. Is this you? I'd love to interview you for my story.

You can reach me at ela9@duke.edu or via private messaging (or reply here).

Thanks!

Not to complain but I wish you could've asked people a little more nicely when you're talking about them being turned away from their first choice school...

I did not mean to hurt or offend those of you who've been deferred or rejected. One of my closest friends at Duke was deferred when she applied ED, and was later admitted (so being deferred isn't necessarily a bad thing). I know there are some absolutely amazing people who get deferred and/or rejected from Duke who go on to do brilliant things at places like Harvard or Stanford. I'm trying to aswer the question "What is Duke Looking for?" and "What are prospective Dukies hoping to get?"

If you feel comfortable being interviewed for my story, for publication in Towerview Magazine (Duke's student magazine), feel free to shoot me an email at ela9@duke.edu with your phone number, name, and a good time to reach you.

Thanks! And Best of Luck during the Admissions Process!

No offense, but I doubt people will answer your question if you ask them directly. Why don't you go to Duke forum and see the official ED decisions thread? It includes not only deferred but also accepted and rejected applicants' stats.
