Deferred People Who Actually Got In

First thing…do we have any of those here?

Second…did you guys do anything exciting and tell Amherst about it, or write a letter, etc?

Just wondering. =D

I told them I was running for the Democratic nomination for President and to defer my acceptance.

I'll vote for you, danalynnne, but ummm I'm kinda wondering whether you meet the Constitutional age requirement. If not, don't worry. We'll start working on getting it changed (we'll just need to coat-tail on the Guvenator's efforts to erase the Born in the USA requirement).
Amherst should definitely take you. Unlike Williams (Garfield), they've never had a president. Best admissions strategy I've seen on CC yet.
Mazel tov.

But seriously, folks . . . .

"Amherst should definitely take you. Unlike Williams (Garfield), they've never had a president. Best admissions strategy I've seen on CC yet."

Hi, Calvin Coolidge?

Yeah, what happened to Calvin Coolidge?

Graduated with Honors from Amherst, then went into law and government in the area before becoming Pres.

Thanks Enviro. I'll have my PAC contact your people for contributions. EJR will be my pr specialist. Calvin Coolidge hmmmm

Sorry about overlooking Cal. Guess he was so silent he just slipped right under my radar screen.

I love how this thread has nothing to do with the actual question, to which I answer that I'm sure people have gotten in after being deferred...if you check the admits on this board from last year, I'm sure you'll see at least a couple who have posted their stats.

On the Williams board, I've seen a reference to an average of 20 to 50 applicants who were deferred ED getting in at Williams RD. That may not seem like a lot, but they admitted 216 out of 531 applicants in December, to put it in perspective.

I have not seen figures for Amherst but I know I've read of deferred students getting in. Anyone know where there are some numbers for Amherst?

Good luck. I know that waiting is especially difficult when the good news did not come in December.
