Nice recs, I hope…

Background: Asian (duh??) – Chinese, lived in Brazil for 9 years, been in US for 4 and a half years… Totally a fob… (wish I was Hispanic!)
Essay Comm App: How I suffered discrimination in Brazil and overcame it. I thought it was pretty good…
Current Status: Accepted into JHU ED but deferred for their BME (biomedical engineering) major =(
Backdoor plan: UT since I’m top 10% … coz my mom won’t pay for me to go to JHU if I don’t get in BME… actually she won’t pay for school that are matched for me coz she thinks either I get into really good ivies or I go to UT for less $$…

First of all, UT is a good school. (We are talking about Texas, right?)
Second, have you thought of Rice?
Third, you have a great academic record. Congrats.
Don't be depressed.
Anyone with your record will do well anywhere.
Good luck.
