Deferred Question

Hi,
Unfortunately I've been deferred at Colgate and I'm debating applying EDII elsewhere, but before I do that, I was wondering if anybody knew the percentage of deferred applicants that are later admitted. For some schools it's significantly harder for a deferred applicant to get in than others. What do you guys recommend? Thanks.

Hey - too bad…what were your stats?..Colgate is Need Aware still…do you need Financial Aid? If deferred EDI, I would just apply regular decision as I dont think EDII will improve your chances drastically if at all.

Show your continued interest in colgate. Submit any significant updates in your resume like awards, etc.

Depends. This may be a good time to do a reality check. If you have another school in mind which is “safer.” that is your stats are above the 50-70ile, you may wish to do EDII there. My observation is that Early decision works best when you are not reaching unless you are a recruited athlete or minority.
