how does it even work? do you get considered the same way as everyone else again in the regular pool?

ummm i was deferred then accepted, tons of ppl are. tons of kids are deferred and then accepted at many schools. yes they look at you the same as a regular candidate but i'm sure that they know that you still applied ED.

do you send in something extra to help you get accepted in the regular pool?

yeah thats my Q aswell

well i guess my SATs went up abt 60 pts, that maybe helped. umm i didn't send an update letter (which i should have, you should do that if you're deferred) but i think that i sent a final recommendation from someone (extra rec.) that was abt it.

What is an update letter?

just like:

Dear (Cornell Admissions Officer/Director Name)

This is what i've been doing since the ED date...blah blah...i still love cornell so much and would go there in a heartbeat...i have passion for ______ and cornell satisfies that more than anywhere else....et cetera.

Signed,
Desperate high school senior

do u know what percent of deferred people get accepted in rd?

yeah i wanna know too ...

I was deferred and then accepted. I did nothing after I was deferred. However, I do advise you to listen to what has been said and keep the admissions people updated with your achievements.
