D was deferred early. Does this basically equate to rejection? Any suggestions for helping chances in Rd?

It doesnt neccessarily equate to rejection, but it does lessen the chances % wise. I would have your D write letters to the school telling them that she still loves the school and wants to go as well as submit additional reccommendations/supplementary material that will help. This is all assuming she REALLY wants to go of course, as it is important to stress there are many other wonderful opportunities availible for her.

I've heard about 10% get in after being deferred ED.
I have a good friend at Duke who was accepted RD after an ED deferral.
Make sure to show interest in Duke though, send letters, get another rec..
Hope isn't lost!

In another thread I posted a few of the things I suggest/did when I was deferred 4 years ago! It's the "for the deferred..." thread. Take a look if you're interested...definitely not a rejection!
