I recently got it deferred. I know i probably got deferred b/c of my sat scores. I got 1320 sats 690 math, 630 verbal. I've already taken it 3 times and have got 1320,1310, and 1320 so should i even bother taking it again. Would it look bad if i took it again cuz they might interpret me as not studying for the sats and just winging it everytime. I've already done the 10 real sats. I've already checked why i got those question incorrect and redid the problems. I've very good in math, i'm in calc 2 multivariable, 3d calculus already so I know I can do better. On the practice tests I get anything from 1280-1580. For the verbal part for all of the tests Ive memorized the 1000 word lists. Ive done the sentence and analogy perfectly and I only have trouble with the critical reading. Is it worth it to take it again? b/c i could take the test and not send the scores since they already got my scores.

where did u get deferred from? some colleges hate a fourth SAT (cough harvard) but others welcome them.

ask the school, maybe it's not the scores, maybe it's that you need to show that you really want to go there... your three scores should tell you something, all three are very very close... so taking it a fourth time probably won't do much to help

im on the same boat for Vassar College. does anyone know whether or not its worth it or whether or not Vassar welcomes it?

study for it this time and get a higher score.

upenn-i'm doubting everything right now but i think they deferred me cuz of the increase in gpa since sophmore year but is still low for that school, and sat scores which is below average

what school?

if you feel that you can dramatically increase your scores (like, +150) i'd suggest taking it agian.

I'm really sorry to burst your bubble, but if it hasn't gone up the first three times you took it you probably won't score any higher. You may even score worse because you'll put pressure on yourself to do well. I think the best thing you can do is send an extra letter of interest and a cd/portfolio piece, something that shows an aspect of you that the SAT just doesn't capture. And remember, you got deferred, not rejected. It means you've got a shot!

Not true, tucker. I took the test 3 times and increased from a low 600's math to a mid-700's math. Improvement is very possible.

Im sorry, you didnt put that in your initial post. You only wrote that you got a 1320, 1310, and 1320 which is why i said you wouldnt score any higher.
