Deferred... should I send my other essay that is strong?

I just checked my application status, which said I got deferred until final review.
If I send another essay that is very strong, will that help increase my chance?

The reason I did not send this essay is that this essay has 500 words, whereas UIUC requires essay 1 and 2 to be less than or equal to 300 words.

The 500-word essay's question was "what makes you unique?", and I used this essay for Carnegie Mellon.

Do you think I should send this essay? If so, how can I do that?

Thank You

Generally, they do not want things not previously requested (and adding a third essay is not previously requested). Things that can be updated would be (a) new SAT or ACT test scores if you took the November or December test and have higher score and for those you need to have official score sent, or (b) new awards to add to EC list you might have given, which you can update by letter to admissions and request it be added to file.

Understand that being deferred does not mean rejection. They are just holding off on a decision until after they receive all applications so they can make decision in light of knowing entire applicant pool. You mention Carnegie Mellon so I am guessing you may have applied to engineering for which large numbers get deferred because the college likes to hold off on half or more of those who apply priority date until all applications are in.

I don’t think they will take any new info from you.

Thank you for the info.
I recently joined a mock trial team, which is countywide. (It’s like one school’s team having a trial against a different school’s team) Should I update my resume and send this to UIUC?
Also, I took the World History Subject Test this month. Do you think that sending my World History test score (which will be released on Christmas!) would affect my admission chance?

Again, thank you for your replies.

they stated clearly that “deferred for final reviews” means that they have received EVERYTHING they want from us, just need more time to make decision based on a broader view of the regular applicant pool. i would advice not to send in anything.

Mock trial team: possibly send update; but probably won’t mean anything.

World History SAT II score: don’t bother; UIUC does not consider SAT II scores for admission.

I don’t get what’s hard to understand. U of I doesn’t take new material. End of discussion.

i think he understands now.

i was referring to drusba trying to confuse him
