BTW my D was out of state and they told her she would have been in - in state no questions ED.
Cmnolefan..there is a lot more that goes into the decision than grades. There are your EC's and essays and recs etc.

Yea i did get in with these scores
1270 sat 670 math 600 verbal
3.3 gpa uw.....4.11 gpa weighted....
36/453 class rank
...........but i had great essays and recommendations.
Plus for ecs i had:
Class President
National Honor Society
Beta Club
Vocational Honor Society
Captain of the Varsity Football Team......

So there is much more to admission than "good scores"

are you instate mdakota?

Hey question to the deferred...do any of you guys know what happens now that we are deferred? (I sent in my midyear grades already)...Like do they see your grades, then send out decisions as soon as they get them, or will they look at ALL the deferrees in march then decide?

You will hear April 1 with all the other RD students.

And then you may get waitlisted after being deferred..so be prepared for that, (ie be aware it may happen so you are not disappointed if UNC still has not made a final decision on you)..

good luck everyone! i was pretty bummed about getting deferred from UNC too.
my stats

I really hate to break this to some of you but UNC really looks at class rank. I was exactly where you guys are now, last year. I was full IB and had a 1360 SAT and 4.15 Wgpa and i was deferred and ultimately rejected. My only problem was that i went to a really difficult hs and was just barely in the top 25% of my class. That would be the reason that someone with similar stats as you would have gotten in while you didn't. UNC loves to throw around the stats about how many ppl they have in the Top 10, etc.

I really hope you guys the best this year. I am in the same boat as you bc I am trying to transfer. Good luck i hope you get good news in a few weeks.
