Deferred then admitted--- IT CAN HAPPEN!!!

Hey Guys!

I haven't posted on here in a while. I just wanted to tell you all that I was admitted during the regular round. I am sooo happy right now. I wish everyone else on here the best of luck. Thanks so much to all the parents & students who are regulars on here. (Too many to name). You guys are the best!

Pamplemoose,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!

Such wonderful news!! It has been a long time coming. I hope that you go to Dimensions and have a great time followed by 4 great years in Hanover!!!

well pamplemoose it didn't happen for me. best of luck at dartmouth though...even though i didn't get in it was and always will be a really good and cool school.

Congratulations!

CONGRATULATIONS!!! in the Dartmouth color! You are going to Dartmouth man!!! WOOOOOHOOOO!!!! HELL YEAH!!!

I've been watching for you since someone said to you two years ago, "With that screen name, you've got to go to Dartmouth!"

Awesome! Congratulations!

Wow congrats. What were the chances of a deferred applicant getting accepted?

About 1 in a million. ;)

Congrats Pamplemoose! Ahhh!

I knew I was missing something :D

I hope it happens to more than one person!! Did you get one of those likely letters?

Wow! Thanks guys. You all seriously rock! It's so funny how I said (too many to name), and basically all of you guys responded within an hour! Lol.

To Copefan: I am sorry to hear that you didn't get in. I was pulling for you (almost as much as ajayc).

To VeryHappy: It's funny you remembered that! I had been secretly hoping this whole time that that very prophecy would fulfill itself :). Also, thanks for reminding me how long I have been wasting my life on this site. hehe.

To Sybbie: Thanks again for all the advice and stuff you have given me. If I am ever in the position to grant someone honorary Dean of Admissions for Dartmouth, it would be you!

Also, I just want you to all know that I will operate under a new screen name from now on. Let's just say, that this moose will no longer identify itself as pample. But instead a certain college comes to mind... hmm...

Nope, no likely letter. Just sheer luck. Also, in case you were wondering, nothing changed about my application (i.e new SAT scores sent). I guess I did have a strong midyear report, but nothing extraordinary.

Wow - gives us hope!!! My D is deferred and we're waiting by the mailbox - I can't check online as I have strict instructions not to check (she is in Alaska on a senior retreat)! It's horrible! Congratulations to you! I have been quietly on the boards for months now and following your story. Maybe I can sleep tonight!

It happened to my son last year, and I think he's been one of the happiest freshman on campus... as I am sure you will be too. You wouldn't want to script it this way, but at the end of the day it sure makes you appreciate it doesn't it?

ME TOO PAMPLEMOOSE!!!
I was deferred Early Decision...so bummed. But I GOT IN TODAY! GO BIG GREEN! HOLD ON TO YOUR HOPE EVERYONE, IF I CAN DO IT ANYONE CAN!

Congratulations to WAVE24!! You guys will have to start your own club!

Wave: Where are you going to go?? You've got some great choices.

Thanks for the kind words!!

Congratulations! :)

My guidance counselor told me that there's likely to be a bunch more Deferred acceptees this year. Dartmouth itself said how talented their ED pool was this year (and they have strict quotas on how many they can accept ED) so I bet they deferred at least some candidates always planning on accepting them later. Anyways, there's no audacity to hope in this case :).

Congrats pamplemoose and Wave24!
