How many people do you think will find out on Friday? And will it only be defered people who are accepted?
@mimimo7890 Can’t say as to how many people will find out. And it’ll most likely only be for those deferred. I don’t imagine RD applicants will find out yet.
Deferred from UNC and UMichigan. Hope I get in next round when competition isn’t as crazy.
I just got a response back to my Letter of Continued Interest. Any thoughts?
Hi Sai,
Thank you for reaching out! I’m happy to hear that U of M is your number one choice and that you have identified why we are a great fit for you. We did receive your first semester grades, and I was happy to see you did very well. At this point, we should have everything we need; please let me know if you have any questions!
All the best,
Ethan Schmitt
That sounds really good and personal and u will likely be admitted
My counselor is refusing to send my grades in a PDF, so I have to have them be sent on Parchment, which will probably take a week for my transcripts to be updated.
The waiting game sucks lol
I sent my Letter of Continued Interest a week and a half ago but never received a response. Is that unusual?
I sent mine last Wednesday and got a response today. It could be different regional counselors varying amount of emails. I don’t know how to feel about my response. It does seem like he read it but it’s also different from standard responses I’ve seen posted before.
I sent my letter a month ago and I never got a response. I did get an automatic response right after I sent it saying that the counselor was out of the office that week, but nothing after that. I think he just got overwhelmed with emails and didn’t respond. Nonetheless, I think it depends on the counselor and their work load. @75493205y4
I honestly wouldn’t read too much into the LOCIs. I sent one in like 3 weeks ago and got a response the next day, but it was painfully obvious that it was a standard cookie cutter reply (my counselor thanked me for submitting 7th semester gardes before my term was even over). The important part is that your interest has been noted.
Even though U-Mich has been saying that “we will have a final admissions decision for you in early April”, is it true that deferred candidates will be notified in February? If it is true, does anyone know around when in February?
@Biryani2017 they get split up into a few release dates.
typically, it’s the first Friday of February, the first Friday of March, and then just before April.
@Sai14K
i got the same letter. i think mose kids got the same letter. and also it doesnt mean anything.
If anyone gets their decision this weekend I’m sure you would announce it here but make sure to also say if you’re IS or OOS, and what your major is, and which deferral letter you recieved, and if you sent in new grades/letter of intent, etc. (Good luck to everyone btw, hope we get some results this weekend!!)
Wolverine Access did show it was waiting for my seventh semester grades after receiving the deferral letter specifically asking for them. Now it says “Not Needed”. Anyone else see the same thing?
@098123Student where do you see it? I don’t see anywhere asking for 7th semester grades.
@JPGator98 I received the deferral letter that specifically asked for grades. At that time, under ‘view credentials’, there was a line added “7th semester grades” with a status of “second notification”. It’s been that way for some time. Now when I check, the status on that same line reads “not needed”. I did not send in grades yet either.
Mine doesn’t have that extra line…should i be concerned?
@michiganea2021 Same. Should I be worried?
Also, if grades aren’t available by first round of decisions, will we not receive a decision? Will they make decisions without receiving mid year grades?
