Deferred vs wait list

I am deferred from EA. Seeing quite a few wait list from last night. Which is one better at this point?

All deferred heading to rejection?

No idea. Some of the stats I am seeing for still-deferred applicants are pretty darn high. Hard to imagine all rejected but who knows?

Since it is only one week left - I am surprised to see so many wait list and almost no acceptance and worst no rejection.

Typically rejections are last to come out - so data point does not go in favor of “deferred” pool

Hard to make sense of what they are doing. Maybe overwhelmed the review system this year.

Status updated to “Your application is being very carefully considered. All of your required application materials have been received by the Office of Admissions and your application is being very carefully considered. Decisions are made based on a holistic review of each individual application, and will be sent to students on a rolling basis. Our decision timeline information is available here.”

Does it mean dreaded wait list?

No, that was my message before I was deferred and ultimately wait listed. I think you still have no decision. Should have one by Friday

@Frasof - So I will be wait listed later today. Which is better than rejected but not ideal

Not necessarily, you might get accepted also

@Frasof - Thanks for keeping my hopes high

@RP101. Just means your number has been called. Good luck!

I check this morning - now wait listed
