Deferred?/waitlist? - what do you do now?

my daughter's uC admission EA decision was something like we'll assess you in the RD round, I think. "please send us you mid yr transcripts" I think it also said.
is this being deferred or waitlisted?
is there a difference?
besides biting her nails and biding her time, what should she do during this time in addition to sending in her mid yr transcripts?

when are the decisions sent out for RD?

idic5: Did you see this?

Scroll down to the article titled “Class of 2018 Early Action Decisions Released”. It tells you what to do as a deferree.

As far as status, it’s kind of like a decision tree. EA applicants are either accepted, deferred, or rejected. Don’t know the percentages of each, but based on history and so forth, the deferred pool is probably the largest, the accepted and rejected pools are second and third, or third and second…don’t really know.

Deferred means that the application goes into the RD pool, and it is reconsidered. Sometime around mid to late March a final decision will be made. At that point you will be accepted, rejected, or waitlisted.

Deferrees still have a shot at acceptance. That’s why I’d strongly recommend that you go to the link I posted and read what you and your daughter can do help your chances.

Best of luck to you and your daughter.
