What are some things that we can do to improve our chances for next time? We all really love Brown, so let’s not give up on it and keep on trying!

Don't stop working in school, that's the most important thing. Senioritis is something you can't afford right now. If you want to, you can send a letter to admissions detailing any new things that may have come your way since you applied (awards, good grades, whatever), but really important is, don't bug them! You have as good a chance as any now in the RD round. So, let them do their work. Good luck, again!

i'm probably gonna send in a few more recommendations, i'm also taking the ACT and sending that score as well

i just called my admissions officer

he said there's not much to do now, keep up your grades, mabye write a BRIEF (he emphasized brief) note describing how brown is still your top choice

optional: extra letter or 2 MAX recommendations

He said the recommendations usually don't help much but he did say that they can't hurt....so i'm planning on sending 2 more recs

do you think it would hurt to send in a summary of updated activities/ awards? Like, not a whole resume, but I'm thinking an add on of new debate awards I've won/ debate honors/ description of continued leadership w/ speech and new projects initiated, plus another letter of reccomendation? The summary would be about a page with a lot of spaces between lines...

I don't want to annoy them, but I want them to know what Ive been up to.. and that brown is still my top choice.

i was gonna throw in an extra rec and summary of some extra stuff that's happened

Think a teacher rec from a teacher senior year would help at all? I've only had her for this half a year but I feel like my teacher recs were probably very weak and hurt me. Think submitting a new one woud have any weight?

if the person can write a good rec, then yes it can help you

i think u guys are fine with ur plans

I'm going to explain a surgery complication I just underwent that could affect my senior grades negatively. I want it to come off as more of an explanation than an excuse but that could be hard.

i also applied ED, and got deferred =(
i was just wondering... would it be creepy if i sent in a picture of myself to make my application more personalized?? especially since they don't ask for it..

Are you attractive?

Hahaha. That's hilarious.

hahah well my friends are telling me to send a picture, so i just wanted an unbiased opinion

actually she is pretty attractive hahah
btw im not a random creep, we're friends

How do you think a picture would help you? Would an adcom say, "Oh look, she's pretty. Let's accept her..."?

I don't know. The rationale isn't very sound.

well just to make it more personalized and put a face to the application..maybe to show more personality or a funny side of myself if it's a funny picture.

but thanks for the advice anyway, i guess i won't

BAHAHAHAHA. well i dont know. i just got deferred and i know a lot of pretty idiots who just got in early. so you never know. i'm beginning to think they pick out of a hat anyway.

wait, how do you get your admissions officer's #?

i called brown using the number available on the website...i said i have a question about deferrals, they asked for my name, i told them, and then they connected me with my regional admissions officer

Do you think it would be helpful if I sent in my ACT score? I got a 32, and I'm not sure if it's good enough. They already have my SAT scores too..
