Deferred.. what next?

So last night I was deferred from Michigan which right now is my top choice. My first quarter grades I think are the reason why I didn't get in (I was sick for over a month and was in a very rigorous curriculum) What can I do to raise my chances of getting in other than get good second quarter grades and send them in. Should I offer to do the Bridge Program? Should I email my rep... if so, how many times a week? Also, when is the earliest I will hear back?

Thanks!

I got deferred too, but Michigan is about my fourth or fifth choice, not my first. For you, I’d recommend writing a letter casually mentioning what you’ve accomplished since you applied and how much acceptance to UM would mean to you. I would not recommend emailing your rep too often (hell, at all) as such an action could be seen as a pesky form of brown-nosing.
