Over the weekend I found out that I was deferred from my first choice school. I immediately e-mailed admissions asking if there was anything that I could do/send to help along the process. I’ve yet to hear anything back yet and am very antsy as my second-choice school which I have been accepted to has already opened up orientation and housing. I live less than a half hour from the school, would it make sense for me to go talk to an admissions counselor and see what I should do? I also feel like it would be a good thing to send a counselor recommendation, but my guidance counselor is new this year and i’m worried that he may not portray the best image of me as he doesn’t know me very well. Thank you for any help!
You might want to deposit at your second choice school and start that process. If you get to your first choice school later on you can always withdraw from your second choice school (although you would lose the deposit).
And you can send a short email to your admissions rep at the top choice school affirming that you remain interested and that the school is your top choice – if you have any accomplishments after your application was submitted you can mention them as well. .
Absolutely not.
