northeastern is my top choice, but i got deferred from the early action pool. i've already sent the admissions office a letter, expressing how i'm still very interested in their school, and what i have been up to academically as well as outside of school. i also sent in my mid year grades, which were all in the mid 90's except for a 77 in trig =/, and i also sent in my SAT2s, which i originally did not send in, and those we're pretty decent (620 in math1, 650 in lit). is there anything else that i havent covered that could benefit my chances? i'm really nervous after hearing they received something like 35,000 applications this year.

other info:
i have a 3.2 gpa.
i received an 1840 on the SATs (cr-610, math-580, writing-650)

My son was deferred same as you last year with similar stats and was ultimately accepted RD and is now attending Northeastern as a business major....and loving every moment. It was well worth the wait.

yeah, i'm fully aware that it's my grades. i really didn't care about grades at all my sophomore year, and that brought my gpa waay down. i've really gotten my grades together since then, but the F i got in adv. algebra sophomore year is always gonna be on my transcripts regardless.

Tell admissions that NU is your top choice! Letting them know can only help you... they'd rather accept people who will come here than people who won't.

i told them it was my first choice in the letter i wrote them. i wrote it at the end, because i didnt want to letter to come off desperate, you know? i wrote about how my grades have been, and how ive been very active in the presidential campaign and how im volunteering for a candidate, which i think will help me considering i applied as a political science major. ahh ive pretty much done all i can do at this point, i think. im just crossing my fingers for the time being.

jerseygirls, did you see the link on the neu website from the dean of admissions ?
to me it seemed encouraging not only to deferred applicants, but even to those rejected. take a look...
