Honestly, I’m a bit upset with Binghamton… maybe because I got deferred too.
But I honestly do not know why I got deferred from Harpur. YES FROM HARPUR!!!
I have a 91.2 avg from one of the top three high schools in NYC, 1300/1600 SATs (1910), amazing ecs, and great recommendation letters (really strong rec from guidance).

My friend got admitted to harpur with a 92 avg, 1850 sat, generic recs (where teachers just make something up generally and signs it for every student that asks), and no ecs at all.
If it’s because of the avg, what would a .8 difference make?

I don’t understand how Bing is making decisions. I even spoke with admission reps, visited schools, and everything.

This really ruined my 18th birthday which is coming up in a few days… :’(

No! I just spoke to someone on the phone. If
You have been deferred from a specific school like SOM, and u don’t get in for regular decision either, THAN
YOU WILL NOT GET INTO BINGHAMTON. So if this is your top choice and youre not sure
About your chances for that specific shopl, email Binghamton ASAP and ask to change your major to undecided or undeclared.

I’m so confused…the letter says nothing about a specific school, but in my application I listed my second and third choice majors which are in harpur and the college of community and public affairs. Why wouldn’t they just accept you to your second or third choice then?
