Okay, i was deferred from USF :( but at least now I have a chance to redeem myself..:)HOWEVER I'm a little stressed out because they said "once we receive this requested information, we will re-evaluate your application and make a final decision no later than March 19, 2012." Now I want to send new SAT scores, BUT the next test is March 10th and there is no way Im going to get results before march 19th.it takes at least 5 weeks for the whole process from getting the results to sending it to the school. They will get my new and improved transcript, recommendation letter, and essay for sure...but i dont know what to do about the SAT! should I take it anyway or don't even bother?? I say why bother but my big sister thinks otherwise. This seems stupid but do you think they might push my application to be evaluated for fall semester if I send the new test scores lol (hey i can dream) Any help or suggestion is greatly appreciated :) :)
*i applied for summer term by the way.

You’re right, that’s pretty late to test. You do have options however.

I would suggest either signing up for stand-by testing for the Jan. 28th SAT test date. It’s first come first serve, so you may have to get up incredibly early to do so. Check with your testing center about it.

Or (and in my opinion this is the better option), sign up for the February ACT. I thought that test was much easier (with the exception of math) and it will also ensure that you get the scores in sooner.

LIFESAVER!!! thank you sooo much! I don’t know why I didn’t even think of the ACT. Most likely its because the math part scared me away too lol but I will definitely do that! Thanks again! Also, do you know what the April 15th “final application deadline” is all about and the difference between the regular march 1st “application deadline”

From what I’m gathering, it means that they need your initial application by March 1st (which it sounds like you’ve already done).

“File Completion Date” means that they need all of your application materials by then (transcripts, test scores, etc.). If they’re not turned in by that date, then you aren’t guaranteed a decision, and missing the deadline could mean a wait-list when it could have been an acceptance.

Since they’ve told you that you’ll receive a decision by March 19th though, I don’t think you really need to worry about those deadlines anymore. Just get those scores as soon as you can, and good luck!

USF has said that the January 28th SAT test is the last they’ll use for admissions decisions, and the December one was the last they’d use for scholarships.
