<p>So I got deferred from FIU and when I called to ask why I was told that the only reason I didnt get accepted was because in the ACT my english score was an 18 and I needed a 19 to get accepted what are the odds that I will get accepted? How long does it usually take to find out the admission decision?</p>

I know it’s hard to wait, but unfortunately no one here can tell you your odds. You were deferred because the admissions staff wants to reconsider you in light of the other applications that come in. They don’t know how you’ll stack up in comparison until they look, so how could anyone else?
Call the admissions office and find out from the people who know for sure.</p>
