I’m very worried right now because I was deferred about 3 weeks ago and I honestly can’t imagine going anywhere other than UCF. I’ve been accepted into USF and I’ve applied for FSU, UF, and UWash.
Here are the stats I applied with:
GPA (UW): 3.2
GPA (W): 3.5
SAT (First Time): 1300 Composite (650 / 650)
SAT Essay (First Time): 6 / 4 / 6
ACT (First Time): 30 Composite (33 / 33 / 27 / 26)
I’m currently a senior and these are the classes I’m taking this year:
AP Calculus AB
AP Chemistry
AP US Government & Politics (1/2)
AP Macroeconomics (1/2)
AP Microeconomics (1/2)
AP English Literature and Composition
AP Music Theory
Jazz Band
Dividend (Assistant for teacher)
I have very little EC because my parents never let me (they wanted me to focus on religion, which kind of applies to why I have a low GPA) and their religion has really held me back. I wrote my essays on this. These are my ECs:
Volunteer at Pet Shelter
Jazz Band (after school performances and practices)
Adobe Certification in InDesign
Prior to this year I have taken all honors and 1 AP which was English Lang (4). Anything that isn’t honors or AP is an elective.
I retook the SAT and received my score after applying:
Composite: 1370 (660 R / 710 M)
Essay: 7 / 7 / 8
I also joined English Honors Society but I don’t think you can add more ECs.
I’m very nervous and I very much regret not applying for summer. Is it possible for my application to be moved to summer for consideration? I have contacted the office of admissions but they weren’t useful. I emailed an admissions officer regarding my referral about two days ago and haven’t received a response yet. I can’t pay to take the SAT or ACT anymore. My grades are looking good and my GPA is definitely gonna boost with all the AP I’m taking. Do I still have a chance?
