I logged on the UCF app status site and I see this “A decision has been deferred pending receipt of your most recent SAT scores or scores from an SAT that you plan to take in the near future.”
What does deferred mean exactly? I got a 20 on the ACTs it looks like they want an extremely high score on the SATs and I cannot get that so what should I do UCF was the only college applied to

You better call and find out what this means. Maybe they just overlooked the fact that you submitted the ACT, However, they may be telling you that you may not get in unless you submit a higher score.

Have you taken the SAT yet? If so did you send your scores? Can you take the ACT's again, or the SAT's? It is possible that the school never received your ACT scores. I would call the admissions office and check.

According to the UCF website:
The midrange (middle 50%) of our entering first-year class for 2003 - 2004 was as follows:

While this is the middle 50%, it looks like your scores will need to be higher to be accepted. If you can not raise your scores, you will need to look into other schools. Maybe a community college and later transfer to UCF.

I'm just curious, did your GC help you plan which schools to apply to? One would think someone would have know that you were not a shoe in at UCF. I'm sorry you were not guided well in this process.

I called they said my ACT scores were not yet in the system.
I have not taken my SATs Jan 22 is the last time to take it I still have 3 more times for the ACTs I believe.

If I get rejected because of my scores how long do I have to go to community college before I can transfer?

My advice is to apply right away to a back up safety school, its not too late. I don't understand why they would have deferred you and not rejected you, they can't assume you'll significantly bring up your sats. If you could have, I'm sure you would. I would take the sat/act one more time (if you can) and then send them your mid year grades, along with a letter of how the school is still your first choice.

If your ACT scores were not entered yet, maybe that was the problem. I am not familar with how UCF admissions works. follow the advice of lowermoreland mom, and start looking for a back up school and take the ACT's or SAT's again in January.

You might want to try applying to the following four year universities in Florida:
University of South Florida (Tampa)
University of North Florida (Jacksonville)
Florida International University (Miami)
Florida Gulf Coast (Fort Meyers)- a new public state school

The above schools have much lower requirements for admission than UCF, FSU, and UF.
