I was extremely disappointed to find out I was deferred after applying EA for Elon. I thought I would get in here are my stats:
SAT:
680 CR
650 M
630 W
total=1960
GPA:3.7 (unweighted)
Taking 4 AP classes this year and took APs last year
ECs:
youth group
student gov.
mentor to freshmen
cadet teacher
yearbook
peer tutor

Why do you think I was deferred, do I have a chance of getting in RD and what can I do to increase my chances?

You weren't rejected. You do have a chance of getting in RD, because you were deferred. You can update the school with any new awards or honors that you have received after you turned in the application. You can send in supplemental materials (Ex: portfolio or tape of you playing music). Also, around early to mid March, you can write to them, expressing your interest in still attending the school, despite your deferrel. The most important thing that you should focus on at the moment is preparing your other applications, so that you will have some place to go in the fall, just in case Elon, doesn't work out.

Thanks. yeah I am in to 2 other schools and waiting to hear back from one. So its not that I have nowhere to go. I was just a little shocked.

I also got deferred from Elon EA.

My Stats:
GPA - 3.0
SAT - 1200/1810
ACT - 28

Excellent Rec's, Excellent EC's Average essay

Its good to know I'm not alone. Hopefully we'll both get in RD.

Definately, I'm glad that I just didnt get denied with my lowish gpa

Good luck!
