....anyone else get deferred from UGA?

yep. kinda sux, but hopefully i can get better news from GT this week.

can't W8 FOR TECH!!

when will we hear back from tech?

if i recall correctly, online on Monday, mail sometime this week

...i did :/

i was deferred also. i'm sort of confused since i was invited to the scholar's day at UGA as well as multiple other visits...apparently multiple honors and AP courses aren't "rigorous" enough for Early Action admission...

this is so depressing! georgia's my number one choice. :

does anyone know the percent of deferred applicants who eventually get accepted?

Before everyone that is deferred panics, let me assure you that last year about this time, I was in the same shoes. I was also deferred, and I was slowly losing hope. However, I hung in there, and although I was deferred for EA, I got accepted for RD. Hang in there, fill out the second part of the application (write well-developed essays), and keep hope! I am sure y'all will get in if you really want to. Best of luck to each of you!

yea guys if u get denied at UGA no chance at GT, UGA is much more generous in acceptances, try georgia southen and georgia state

I know of a ton of people that got into GT that were denied by UGA...

that surprises me, id say list is shorter than kids who were accepted at GT and denied at UGA, my bad, just making a sweeping generalization

I would have to disagree with afitscher. There are some cases where you may get denied at UGA but get accepted at GT, even though GT is seen as more prestigious than UGA. It happens. However, Georgia State isn't a bad back-up college to have. It was my back-up in case I didn't get accepted into UGA.

again guys just a quick generalization, id wud say same for sumone getting rejected at Syracuse applying to Cornell, its just not likely, but Cornell is ivy, ok bad example, sry-dont tear my head off
