Deferred.

When will I most likely hear back from Umich?

My letter said that sending my second trimester grades may enhance my status in the deferred pool of applicants. I read somewhere else that there were a couple of different letters that were sent out for deferrals. Did I get the better one?

Here are my stats:

Ethnicity: Caucasian
State: Michigan
School: Large Public
ACT: 25
GPA: 3.60 (Upward Trend)

Thanks!

We have almost the exact same stats and I got my deferral letter today too. I have no clue when we’ll hear back, but hopefully before that mid-April mark. Good Luck!

applied to engineering 10/28, deferred 12/7

Introduced a full new course to my school district

we should make this the official ‘deferral’ thread. a lot of people aren’t posting deferrals on the decision one.

did you guys the the “7th semester grades notified” think on WA?

nope nothing on WA

are you OOS, sailor?

No I’m not

ugh that is so aggravating, i thought for sure the ‘seventh semester grades’ would be on there.now im worried

Waiting to find out has got to be the most nerve racking thing ever :/

i got ther dreaded letter today too

I was deferred ( according to the date of the letter) November 9th and received the 7th semester grades notified on wa.
Yes there are mutiple different deferrel letters I’ve read about a few from last year.

How do I know if I should send my new grades in? There isn’t anything new on WA yet…

I’m not sure what the thread was called, but last year a bunch of other people and I posted stats and which deferral letters we got, and tried to figure out what letters were “good” but we weren’t able to figure anything out. It all seemed pretty random.

If anyone’s interested in finding it you can try searching through my old posts (I don’t have a lot of posts so it would be easier than searching the entire forum).

FWIW I got the letter that did ask for extra grades. I got in with no GPA change (my cumulative gpa when I applied was the same as my new gpa, both cumulative and for the 7th semester alone)

sdboot it appears that you have the deferrel that does not require for you to send 7th semester transcript, you can possibly be admitted anytime from now to april. Though to increase your chances of admission it’s likely a good ideal to send your 7th semester grades to the school when they are released.

Thanks for the help everyone!

sdboot, sailor, & homerunner

what college did you guys apply to? (LSA, eng., ross)

^LSA (10 characters)

Engineering

“ACT 29, math 34
member of insane amounts of clubs
Introduced a full new course to my school district”

3 mistakes. Lots of people get 34+ on math, what matters is the composite. And also being a member in insane numbers of clubs won’t make your application look good at all. And introduced a full new course to an entire school district? Wow you’re greater than Obama.

being in a ****load of clubs doesnt mean anything, unless you have had leadership positions or won competitions.
