Hi,
I am an international student and I was accepted for a math phd programm that starts this September. Due to some situations in my home country i really need to stay for one more year and enroll to the Phd programm one year later. I asked to defer my enrollment but my request was rejected and they said and I would have to reapply next year. Is there anything else that I can do to go there one year later? I don't want to risk my acceptance as I don't have the money to reapply to a lot of universities again (if I apply again what are the chances that I will be accepted again?) but at the same time I know that if i go now it will be really difficult for me to be productive...Any thoughts/ suggestions?

If you got rejected, then no, there isn’t anything else you can do. You would just have to apply next year. Honestly, these opportunities don’t come often. You can visit your country now, and enroll in the program when you come back. Don’t pass up on the opportunity.
