Deferring Admission…

I am interested in deferring my admission and entering as a freshmen for the class of 2010. In the forms Dartmouth sent us, they included a slip of paper with the above option that has a box for one to check and then send in if they plan on doing so.

Anyone here familiar with Dartmouth’s policy? Is the option still open to those who were accepted off of the waitlist? At first I thought this would mean they’d have to take another student off of the waitlist, but then I figured that the “summer melt” would account for it.

Thanks.

According to the information in thier common data set (p. 12)Dartmouth allows you to defer admission for up to 2 years.

Ususally you are to do this by June 1. Since you were accepted off of the waitlist after June 1, your best bet would be to contact admissions to find out how to go about getting the deferralment as you don't want to have to go through the process all over again.

All the best
