Deferring enrollment

My son was accepted and would like to defer his enrollment. I know the time limit is usually one year, does anyone know if enrollment deferral at Tulane can be more than one year?

Thanks and best wishes to everyone.

According to their deferment request form http://admission.tulane.edu/documents/Deferral_Application.2.pdf</a> it is only one year at a time. Whether they would consider a longer period than that I don’t know. It would be an unusual request, and I would imagine it would depend on the reason.

fallenchemist, thank you. was hoping to hear of exceptions.

Well, deferrals are still relatively rare, and when they do happen are almost always for a gap year I would think. Maybe you will get lucky and someone that is on CC will have experience with a longer deferral specifically at Tulane, but the odds are slim. While it isn’t as specific, have you posted your question in the general forum to see if there is anyone that has done it at another school? Maybe if someone else has, they can provide some anecdotal experience and advice.
