Hey everyone I'm a high school senior and FSU is my #1 choice. I was deferred from EA but I have strong hopes. I was accepted to FAU,UCF, and USF.
Unweighted gpa is a 3.2
Weighted gpa is 3.85
ACT = 24 but I retook it and I find out what I got on the 24th
Sat= 1490
I have about 174 hours of community service.
I was in band for 2 years and I played lacrosse for 2 years

It sounds to me like you don’t meet FSU’s minimum requirements for acceptance. They require a 500 SAT score in all 3 sections or the ACT equivalent (somewhere in the low 20s, around 22-23).

Your GPA isn’t that high and you didn’t list what classes you took in the way of AP/IB/Dual Enrollment/etc so it is difficult at best to say what your chances are aside from saying they are very slim.

4.1 GPA LAST year when you have a 3.8 now? 3.2 UW GPA says you got mostly B’s, one or two A’s, and maybe one or two C’s and a 3.8 W says your schedule has lacked rigor over the years assuming you attend a public Florida high school. However, I’m kind of noticing that a lot of universities care more about your test scores so i hope you have improved your ACT score :)

I mean, you have a chance. I don’t want to get your hopes up, because it’s not a great chance.

Your GPA is a bit low for FSU. You don’t have a particularly rigorous course schedule from what you’ve posted. And unfortunately for you, between academic course rigor, GPA, and test scores, FSU cares the least about test scores.

Sorry to comment on your thread about this but Pasbal or Matt, do either of you know if a student gets evaluated for summer and fall term regardless of which one he or she applied for?

No. The only time a student gets evaluated for a term other than the one they apply for is when you apply for Fall and would not be accepted. At that point your application is reviewed for summer admission. You can also in extreme circumstances be given spring admission instead of summer or fall, although this happens to a VERY small number of students each year.

That is the only time it happens. There is no reciprocity if you apply for Fall.
