Deffered from UCF

Hey guys. Literally my first post on here. I recently applied to UCF in September just to apply with the idea that I wouldn’t get in. I honestly applied cause people usually say “you never know” I’ve recently been rejected to FAU which crushes my spirit for getting into any other college. This morning I checked my application status and saw that they deffered me. I was shocked. My question is what chances do I have of getting in?
GPA: 2.8/3.4
SAT: 1300 - cr 460, m 370, w 460
ACT: pending(results come out on the 10th

My chances look slim huh? Any advice? Much appreciated!

Wow, you’re very fortunate to be deffered from UCF, considering that their standard SAT is 1836. Honestly, you’re chances are very slim number wise to be accepted, below I’ll list some Florida Colleges that have stats more closely to yours. Before I do, did you have something on your application that would spur UCF to deffer you instead of rejecting you? Some kind of hook? Because that could change your chances of admission.
This is UCF’s average admissions profile- http://www.prepscholar.com/sat/s/colleges/UCF-SAT-scores-GPA
Have you considered going to a Community College then transferring? I’ve also heard that some florida CC’s offer bachelors.

I’m actually surprised I didn’t get rejected. Maybe it was my essay… I did state that I was a first generation student living in a very low income single parent household… I don’t know… And FAMU had an on spot acceptance thing at my high school but the lady said she couldn’t accept me cause of the math portion of my SAT. A CC has always been my last choice

@TriggasGirl the following Florida schools do not require you to submit test scores. I don’t know if any of them will suit your needs but they may be a viable option if you are not admitted to UCF.
Florida SouthWestern State College
St Leo University
Rollins College
