Deffered ....now what?

when ur deffered from early or regular ....do they just look at ur quarter 2 grades ...and make their decision....?

also dont colleges take alot of time when getting back to you after a defferal? ....

I hope you checked your spelling on your essay and application. (Deferred is the correct spelling). Incorrect spelling on a borderline application would be very bad.

funny, i was going to say the same thing about the spelling…

Hi
I am hoping folks can answer your question rather than focus on your spelling.

Deferred means that they re-evaluate the whole application again in the context of the regular admission application pool, rather than the early action pool. Based on what I have heard from students and parents in my town last year, regular admission to UMass was more difficult than early admission - many cases where early action kids with lower stats got in compared to kids with better stats for regular action who did not or were waitlisted.

this is a forum not an application…if someone messes up on spelling …its not the end of the world…lets focus on ANSWERING the question asked…if u cant help…dont answer !

you dont do anything and hope for the best

NO. All of you are wrong. #1 Stop going spell crazy on a college forum website… and answer the question #2 dont make fun of the spell crazy ppl… and answer the question. And #3 you do NOT not do anything. Swam, my suggestion 2 u is write an essay telling UMass why u want to go there. If you’ve done anything since u submitted ur app (I.E- Ec’s, community service, etc) try and let them no that in ur essay as well.

you dont do anything hes wrong all you do is wait and hope for the best because there is nothing you can do youve shown your intrest in applying for their school and it is in gods hand to help you. JJac610 doesn’t know what there talking about

my D sent her regional admissions counselor an email restating some of her strengths.

youve worked your butt off in high school and you it isn’t in your hands if you get accepted or what. You might want to get an interview to tell them that all throughout my highschool yeares i’ve worked hard and i would be an excellent candidate for Umass

Yea especially UMASS Amherst! They’re always late on admissions especially regular admissions decisions that’s y I applied early but my SAT scores were low at the time (1560) which I bumped to 1800 but after I received my decision (dec. 14) & my gpa was 3.7. Even though its my last choice I guess I was okay with getting in. If u love the school & you feel your app reflected that then just sit back & relax. & don’t worry about the spelling (lol) I’m on my g1 & I’m not suprised if I end up spelling every word wrong. Lol. Good luck!

doctarjayrad, what the hell are you talking about? That’s what you do for any college that deffers you… you don’t sit there and do nothing … especially if you really want to go there… you do anything you can to get in. What I said to do is suggested by all of my counselors for deffered decisions for any school, and my high school is highly rated in the country so maybe it’s you that doesn’t know what they’re talking about.
