Deffered

even you guys got deferred with such a good stats...i think i should be getting ready for the truth...:(

p.s: were people admitted with below mid 50% stat mostly athletes?

i applied on Nov. 3... that's early enough, right? (i didn't want ER to conflict with my SCEA stuff)

quick stats: 35 ACT, 2270 SAT, 4.0 UW GPA, national merit semifinalist

i would hope that i'd get in, but i'm getting really paranoid with all these 3.7 and 3.8 GPA and 30, 31 ACT deferrals

idk
i know a couple people who had 3.5/33ish and got accepted last year. the thing is this combination is not common.

lmao peytoncline. no need to be paranoid. you're in with your eyes closed and hands tied.

At least news of the deferrals is coming sooner than it did last year. Don't despair, you still have a chance of being accepted.

After being deferred last year, my D sent in her fall semester grades with a nice letter updating them on her activities. She also visited the campus one more time. (They sent the acceptance email soon after she sent that letter.)

Good luck!

yeah peytoncline you are basically 99.9% guaranteed in, the reason why I cant say 100% is because some girl last year got rejected with a 34 ACT and a 4.0 lol

Haha, you guys are tripping out. Patience is key. Peytoncline and Trickstyle, you guys will get it, just takes time. I am trying to get a 3.8 or a 4.0 UW for this semester, and hopefully everything will work out. Best of luck to all of you!

y'all thinking that maybe a reply will come today cos it has been a week since they put out their round last wed. lol always can be hopeful right?

i just got deferred with a 3.3 UM GPA and a 2320 SAT. good essays, recs and extracurriculars. im probably gonna end up with a 3.6 this semester, does anyone have any idea what my chances look like for RD?

How were you notified? Did you just find out today?

i got a letter in the mail

i just got deferred today too...in the mail. no wolverine access or email. i am not too bummed tho, because i still have a shot in april. i still get to feel the thrill of seeing that envelope with the block M on it arrive at my house. i am also excited about getting into my other schools, which i love and have a better shot at getting in than at michigan.

question: is the only thing i have to do now is send in my 1st quarter grades?

bjcapsfan 10:

I got a deferred status letter as well today. No notification on the website. My stats at 3.5 with 29 ACT, good rec., sports and volunteer work...I knew I was on the border.

I indicated Nursing and wonder if that hurt my changes vs. general.

Who else got deferred and did you indicate a specific school?

i am shocked you got deffered (sorry dude--really).

this will make u feel worse but ur scores are better than mine (i got a 29) and i got in...so idk why..but MICHIGAN IS NOTORIOUS for being INCOSISTENT in who they let in. I agree w/ HARR..my school is somewhat competitve but not really..so maybe that upped my chances. harr what school??

^ talking about originial poster

If you guys don't get in then Michigan is just stupid

i mean i go to a top 50 school and plenty of less qualified people haev gotten in. im really just confused im gonna call admissions on monday and try to find out how to up my chances for regular decision.

I got my letter yesterday.
"After an individualized and comprehensive evaluation, your application has been deferred for a final decision until a later date"
I'm pretty disappointed honestly since I thought I could get in.

I go to a public magnet school OOS that is extremely rigorous and arguably one of the best.
2320 (740, 780, 800)
3.58 W GPA (tough course load, 7 aps, 1 post ap, everything is automatically honors at least and we have one of the hardest grading scales in the country)
800's on Chem and Math II
5's on Calc BC, Chem
4's on US History, Comp Sci AB

I hope i'll get in later... my first semester grades are solid, I should be getting close to a 4.0 W so hopefully that'll tip me over....

Seeing that one thread where the kid got in with abysmal stats makes me mad though.

jcrew. Typically a 3.58w gpa is not high enough for an oos student to get into Michigan.

what does OOS mean?

rjkofnovi, not to be cocky (which is almost unavoidable in what i'm about to say) but i'm pretty sure it's high enough given the high school that i go to which I'm sure was taken into account.

aturof, oos is out of state
