Deffering one's Admission

For How Long can we defer our admission?
I was thinking of going to Saudi Arabia for a couple of years, so I was just wondering, as long as we are doing something profound and unique and productive?
Peace.

Probably should contact admissions on this one....my guess is that it's ok. I know a lot of people that took time off....but on the otherhand, they all only took one year off.

A quick call to admissions would let you know for sure.

I've only come by one year (generally...but ur situation may be different!)

My request for deferment for one year was approved. The sense I got was that as long as you're doing something productive that is not taking classes for credit at another school and they think you're definitely planning to come back to Cornell afterwards, they'll definitely let you defer.

You need to send the drequest to the dean of your school. For CAS it's Dean DeVries (dd75@cornell.edu). I sent him an email saying how long I wanted to defer and what I planned to do in the mean time. If you don't hear back from them you have to be persistent because they did nothing with my request until I called about 4 times and talked to his secretary. Eventually I got a letter from Dean DeVries in the mail approving my deferment.

is it possible that after u defered, u can still mamange to graduate with your regular class?

I think only if you come in with sophomore standing
