Defferred from UOP?!

I got an email from UOP saying that I got defferred to regular decision. I applied under the Distinctive Application that they sent me. I really don’t understand why they defferred me
My weighted GPA is 4.2
Class rank 17/460
My SAT score was a little low 1880
I have many solid extracurriculars that I’ve been doing since freshman year
I’ve won many awards as well
I had a very well written essay
By the end of my senior year I’ll be finishing taking 7 AP courses

I did not submit a letter of recommendation from my teacher (it was optional) and I did not have enough time to ask my teachers to write me one (bad mistake on my part)

Is it because I did not submit this letter that I got defferred?

Early Action is just a crap shoot. It is impossible to ascertain why UOP would defer you to Regular Decision, except that they are electing to “compare” you to the entire pool. This could happen for any number of reasons: a larger, highly qualified early action group of applicants, something about your admissions packet, a combination of both? It’s just a bit trying to attempt to psyche out the reasons. Good luck!

And yeah it was really strange since I didn’t send any of the transcripts they requested and I got an email from them about a month ago saying that I was Accepted with a Regents Scholarship! :slight_smile: Woohoo!
