Definitely Concerned, Please Help!

Okies, so about 10 days ago I received an email saying my essays had been lost by Georgetown and that they wanted me to re-send them.

I emailed back that day with my essays in the body of the e-mail and attached as Word Docs.

No reply.

Emailed again 7 days later asking for a confirmation of receipt.

Still no reply.

What's up with that? Usually when you email a university with something, you know, kind of important like admissions ESSAYS, they email you back, right?

I have emailed Georgetown admissions multiple times on multiple issues and they have never replied. Definitely turned off by that. I understand that admissions is busy, but seriously? Other large and competitive schools have not been like this.

And a final thing to vent on: their unique application sucks. A lot. It was inconvenient (esp. one sitting), strangely formatted, did not have an Awards section (I took that to mean they don't care... which is bad news for me.)

I dont recall exactly, but wasn't there a "anything else you want to add?" section where you upload stuff? If not, son will be in equal trouble.

^
I do not remember an anything you want to add section. That's in the Common App.

I think your best option is to call them on Monday (which I think would be more efficient/at least faster than email transactions). If worst comes to worst, ask them if you can overnight ship a hard copy (although...I suppose emailing would be much easier). Don't overly stress yourself out though > < There is a big possibility that they received it and for whatever reason didn't send a confirmation email.

Yeah, I believe there was an "anything else you want to add" section.

Anyway, my experience with Gtown has shown that they don't do follow-up. Everything's turned out okay in the end, but I'll echo an earlier poster and recommend that if you want concrete answers, give the office a telephone call.

Dont worry too much, gtown isnt the most user-friendly when it comes to apps... im kinda sad that i probably wont b going there after i put in all my hard work and got accepted... thats just how the cookie crumbles... i shoulda applied to the college...

why aren't you going to attend?

Thanks for the responses, but this issue has basically been resolved. :)

I changed majors and said change would require me to go to the college. I got in SFS. I think one of my other schools is a better fit

u can transfer from sfs to college
