Definition for a "signed copy of the tax return form & W-2"

Does it want me to sign it then make multiple copies OR make copies then sign my name on each of the copies?

Sign, then make the copies.

They just want the real forms the way they were filed with the IRS, not a draft version.

So i need to copy these signed copy of the tax return form with the signature?
Where is the signature?
Then i have to send them out?

Haha…I just noticed that “signature” part too. None of my copies are signed because my accountant provides the REAL form, and the instructions to mail it, etc. Separately he gives me all MY copies of everything (state, fed, individual, corporation) in a nice little package but they’re never signed. I JUST saw the “signed” instruction - and I’ve now got a 2" stack of 3 copies that I have to sign - guess it’s something to do while I watch TV, eh?

Where do I sign my tax return copy. There is not line for a signature. I am considering just signing all the pages at the bottom and turning them in that way.

Which form did you file (1040 EZ? 1040A? 1040)?

There should be a place to sign the tax return copies. Near the bottom of page 1 if it is a 1040EZ, page 2 for a 1040A or 1040.

I did my taxes through TurboTax and as a result, there wasn’t really a “line” to sign on, per se. So I printed them out and signed my name on the first page and (to cover all the bases) the last page of my 1040. The college accepted it, so I guess that was good enough.

Weird - I do my taxes on turbotax and I can print out an actual 1040 and sign it to send to the school. But if they accepted it the way you sent it then that should be fine.

I make a copy and then sign it.
what do you mean there isn’t a place for a signature?
I file online, but all the tax programs I have ever used, print out hard copies just as if I had gotten all the forms from IRS.

We and our kids have used Turbotax to do our taxes every year. If you printed out a copy of the form for yourself, just look at the bottom of the page. There IS a place to sign it…on every kind of tax form. I just checked our 1040, my son’s 1040A and our daughter’s 1040EZ…all done on TT.
