Degree in Human Development?

<p>My daughter is interested in the Human Development major in Human Ecology. What types of careers do students in this major generally pursue? She's very interested in Special Education and working with kids with disabilities, but likes the Human Development major because she feels it will provide her with options other than a career in Education, if she decides to change her focus or it doesn't work out for other reasons. On the other hand, I'm a little worried that the focus is so broad that she will have few career options.</p>

<p>Any insight into this major from current Human Ecology students (or anyone who can help!) would be greatly appreciated!</p>

<p>Human Development majors have several career options. The majority of students generally pursue a career in Education, but that’s not everyone. Many kids are actually pre-med, and go on to Medical School. Some HD graduates end up doing social work. Others end up in public policy roles</p>
