Degree or diploma for Music Business?

<p>My son is a junior in high school, and wants to go into the business side of the music industry. Our local community college has an associate degree course, but we've heard it's very outdated. My son saw info about a school called Full Sail in Orlando. Is this school legit? It's over $30,000 for one year, but he likes it because he doesn't want to take all the extra academic (math, english, etc) courses that a real college requires. Should he spend time and money getting a bachelor's or associate's degree at a "real" college, or is one of these "accredited" music schools worth the money (especially all that money for Full Sail)?</p>

<p>My understanding is that Full Sail is looked down upon by those in the industry. My son (now a college senior) looked at it and came to the conclusion that a "real" degree would serve him better in the long run.</p>

<p>FullSail is a for profit institution, like Devry, ITT, University of Phoenx, and as such is not the typical choice of selection for the majority that utilize these forums.</p>
