Our Daughter got accepted to Engineering in Penn State, Md, Delaware and Buffalo. She thought Md and Penn St were too big for her and likes Buffalo and Delaware. She got nice monetary offers from both. We are NY residents so we'd get a huge break in Buffalo. According to stats, both schools are pretty similar. We'd appreciate any thoughts you may have, I guess we'll post same under Buffalo.

Buffalo is not well-known outside of the area. Where does your D want to work when she finishes school?

We hope in the Northeast. These days with National rankings and so much discussion, do you really think there would be a bias?

(Speaking of bias lol) I am currently a freshman Mech. E at UD. I’ll preface what I have to say with the following: I absolutely love it here. Ok back on track… Although rankings are great and all, I think the decision should come partly down to what does your daughter want to do (what type of engineering). Also, if she’s willing to travel the few hours to Delaware for school, then I’d say go for UD. They say variety is the spice of life, and as a non-Delaware resident the change of pace makes my experience more enjoyable.

Thanks for the post Bluehen. Both Delaware and Buffalo are drives for us. I would like my D to be as happy as you seem to be in her school, which is why I started this post. Good luck with your studies, I hear Udel has some nice job placement opportunities
