Delay in mid-year reports

Hey there,

My school (in Europe) is on a weird academic timeline whereby our semester ends next week, meaning that Mid-Year reports won't be received by my colleges until mid-February. Do I need to contact each school individually to notify them of this delay?

I've applied to the following schools:

Claremont McKenna
Tufts
Stanford
George Washington
Wellesley
Brown
Scripps
Northwestern
Penn

Preferably, I'd like to not send the mid-years at all! I did horribly mad on a practice exam (I'm doing the IB) for one class and my teacher has decided to base our grades just off of that one test, even though I have had A's in the class for 1 and a half years. Lovely.

Is there a way to...ahem...get out of sending the mid-years? My counselor DID send an updated progress report at the very end of November with all grades up until then.

Thanks for your help!

It is my understanding that the majority of the schools on your list require a midyear report in order to consider your application complete. If I were you, I might have the counselor who is to send these things comment on why your score in that one class might not be reflective of your true achievement or effort.

Ah...already tried that one. She's a nice lady, but VERY strict, and she basically said "too bad". I don't know what to make of it...

Argh, need more info. Bump.

I've heard that a few colleges require mid-years only if your school is on a US-based system. Mine isn't (we're on a weird European thing with IB). Could this be something? If you haven't noticed I'm trying to find any way possible to NOT SEND ANYTHING IN haha.
