I am applying as a freshman to the spring '07 term at some universities...

Essentially, I have only received an acceptance letter from one school so far and was wondering if I should contact the other instituions and inquire about my chances/decision or just wait until they contacts me, which could take weeks!. It is important to settle on one school as quickly as possible so that I can expedite the processing of my documentation and living arrangements since I will be going out of state. So the point is, I have to pick a school as soons as possible, but I don't want to go with a certain school without knowing what the others had to say(wether or not I was accepted), especially the original isn't my first choice.

When my D was transfering, we had this problem. We did call a school because she'd gotten a deadline from another school. The one we called looked up her decision to see if it had been made yet. It had been ,and they gave us the answer over the phone. It didn't sseem like they thought it was an unreasonable request.

Thanks garland. It is good to know everything went well with your D because I am still waiting from a response form 4 other schools and may indeed have to resort to that. It just seemed very insistent of me, particularly when some of those schools were actually reaches for my credentials.

Yeah, it's tough. She did fall transfer, but spring, but there still aren't the same uniform deadlines like there are for first-time frosh. Luckily, the schools worked with us because of that.

as far as insistent, if you mean on your part, the school D called was a reach, and they didn't seem to think it was out of order to call.
