That’s a tough one…but, you have to go with Andover. It’s the #1 boarding school in the country and perhaps the world.
It probably won’t be an enjoyable experience while you are there but could pay off handsomely in the long run.
Horrible advice IMO.
OP should choose where they would feel happy and thrive in all aspects of life, not somewhere they will be unhappy, but have a “higher chance of success”.

This is terrible advice. There’s no reason to attend a school you don’t love when you can attend one that is equally excellent.
If YOU are doing things for how you think they look to others rather than what is truly best for you, stop now!! This is no recipe for happiness in life.

Plus, 20 years from now, who knows what the “best school” would be. Many colleges that used to be unheard of have been climbing T30 rankings. Who’s to say the same won’t happen for prep schools?

The first part is debatable. The second part is also debatable, but anyone arguing that Andover is the best BS is the world would likely lose.
Regardless, it’s folly to choose a BS based on ranking

IMO rankings are shades of gray and agree with others to consider this advice with caution. SPS is highly ranked. If talking about having two choices Andover and a school whose rank is low, then I may be persuaded to let the so called rank matter. Happiness and fulfillment at this age trumps IMO.
