DELL vs TOSHIBA vs SONY VIAO

Widgets are awesome, I must admit. I was playing with some of them on my friend's mac today.

Sony's XBRITE screen is quite nice, but it's reflective, which can get annoying...an it's only helpeful if you're in direct sunlight.

I might also add that this is the same type of screen that the Dell Inspiron 700m comes standard with.

I think Sonys are hit-or-miss. Sometimes you'll get a great machine, but other times it will just break on you.

Ok, I have to agree on that one. My Sony has never been problematic for me, but my uncle bought a Sony last year and his LCD started to leak for no apparent reason. Sony claimed that the repair was not covered by warranty, but reversed themselves after my uncle gave them a good argument. However, the repair was not done very well and now he has a laptop that might leak within the screen one day and be perfect the next. He already is planning to order a ThinkPad to replace it very soon.
