Deluxe Singles

Can frosh get these? What's the process of applying for one once you've been admitted?

It's highly unlikely. But if you win the lottery for housing, yes. But you might as well forget about it because upper-classmen always get priority when it comes to dorm rooms and parking space.

Hmm.... is it likely for frosh to get singles?

This will be my first year at Michigan this fall. I got a triple but then I got an e-mail saying that there were a few single rooms available. I ended up turning them down because of the increase in price and because the room was in another res hall that was less convenient for me. Deluxe Singles are pretty much out of the question, but freshman do have a small chance for being assigned a single. Sometimes, people swap rooms but I think most people who get singles usually stick with them.

To apply for housing you go to www.housing.umich.edu. But I think it's too late to apply for housing. If you're going to Michigan this fall, I think you're out of luck.

I just got promoted. Housing called me yesterday and offered me a single in South Quad as opposed to my triple in Oxford. So yes, freshmen can get singles.

i applied to michigan housing vERY LATe.. July 30th? yes.

and I got SINGLE in aLICE LLOYD

There is still housing left. Just call the Housing Information Office. Probably no any singles for males - but there are often singles for females in Stockwell.

i have a single in baits if anyone is interested in it. im a freshmen and will liekly be in a freshman corridor. im interested in a double, preferable on central

If you want to have any hope of switching from a double/triple/etc to a single, do it NOW. I was searching straight from September to March and got nothing, it does not take long for the rare few who want roommates to get them.
